Areas of Activities
Erguvan is committed to perform activities under the following categories.
Research & Policy
Educational Training
Vocational Training
With rapid changes in the field of migration, availability of valid data and information in this field remains a challenge. We consider conduct of research and provision of policy advice to various actors with an aim to enhance effective decision making in the field of migration. We design and implement research projects in accordance with specific needs of our stakeholders.
Under this activity area we are equipped to do the following:
1. Provide language training courses (Turkish, English and others), skills training, literacy courses, etc.
2. Special education programs for those school age children who remain out of school for various reasons;
3. Short term training to the refugees who will be going to return to their countries of origin. The courses will include information about the risks and negative outcomes of irregular migration to prevent them from making repetitive attempts to migrate irregularly in the future.
4. Other programs such as seminars, workshops, exhibitions and cultural programs to raise awareness
Limited level of skills and abilities among refugees and migrants is a challenge that leads to unemployment and underemployment of these persons.
In order to build capacity of unskilled persons and to enable them to become self-sufficient, we design and implement training programs in response to their needs.
Humanitarian Aid
Women Empowerment
While our main purpose is to enable people and to reduce dependency on aid, there are situations where the need for financial assistance or distribution of basic necessities remain. In cases of natural disasters, emergencies, accidents, and war, aid will be delivered to vulnerable groups.
People with special needs such as; single, female headed households with young children, physically challenged persons, elderly, patients, etc. will also be considered for provision of financial/in kind assistance.
Displaced women and their children are vulnerable to various kinds of risks. We are committed to strengthen women by enhancing their abilities and advocating for their rights to help them become economically independent, and to help reduce child labour.
